A fence is up and work appears to be occurring on interior tenant finish in the former Safeway. Councilwoman Kendra Black reported recently that, in addition to the liquor store and Tony’s Market, the Egg and I will also be a tenant. She also mentioned Happy Canyon Flowers would have a kiosk presence and that other tenants, such as a bar/restaurant were being sought – all good news.
So far, only a demolition permit is showing up in Denver building permit records. Given the “Spring 2018” timeline reported on the Tony’s website for opening and the pace and limited evidence of on-going work, it would seem the likelihood of the owner doing the exterior improvements advertised in their leasing brochures is slim – time will tell though.
