Property Taxes Going Up?

The downside of an appreciating market is that assessor’s valuations will undoubtedly go up.  A recent Denver Post article has some great maps that let you drill down to your neighborhood to see how property values have changed from the 2015 to 2017 re-assessment period.  While the value increases are stunning in some areas, this doesn’t translate to directly proportional increases in property taxes due to limitations imposed by TABOR and the Ghallager Ammendment.

Interestingly, Cherry point had some of the lowest increases in the City:
